GARY ALLEN MATERNE
Gary Allen Materne Erin, NY Born July 19, 1952, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at the age of 70. Gary had served in the U.S.A.F. and was a retired Corrections Officer. It was Gary's wishes that services be held privately. Gary was predeceased by his parents, Jacob and Patricia (Wood) Materne.
Gary's sister, Janet Materne Mase, passed away on March 17, 2023, just eleven days earlier.
Gary is survived by his wife Debbie (Layton), one son, 3 daughters & 11 grandchildren, and his sister, Tammy (Joe) Powell of Elmira, NY, and several nieces & nephews.

Gary & I spent a fair amount of time eating lunch together at school with mutual good friend John Walker (also deceased). We never shared classes that I recall, though we always had a good time when together. Gary was almost always upbeat and a lot of fun.
Last time we got together was at the SHS 40th reunion in 2010.
Rest in peace, my friend!
